Even though I’m usually pretty vocal about shopping small and supporting local when you can, more than ever it’s crucial as the current events will take a toll on several industries. For some, their income is going to stop abruptly for an unknown amount of time. Others will be effected by canceled events or other retailers halting their wholesale buying. Some will have to tighten purse strings due to unexpected costs of daycare or babysitters.

Freelancers, self-employed, hospitality workers, business owners, students, just about everyone, is feeling a pinch. If you aren’t one of those people, who for now will not feel a direct financial impact right away, why not perform an act of kindness and buy something from a local maker? Just one sale could brighten the day of a worried entrepreneur, and if many of us performed this act, even if it was only once, it could start an incredible wave of optimism and keep the cash flowing.
