Coffee Shops I'd Take you To Around Orlando

I could give you a list of every coffee shop in existence, but if I don’t really ever go there, what’s the point in that? Here’s my Orandoans guide to the coffee shops that I frequent the most and some of my favorite drinks.

AROUND DOWNTOWN ORLANDO

Haan Coffee

This Korean coffee shop quickly became a favorite of mine as soon as it opened. Their Seoul Iced Coffee is one of my favorites; it’s smooth, rich, nutty, and sweet. For non-coffee drinkers, they create a stellar Strawberry Matcha. They always have inventive seasonal drinks like their Corn Latte. Once you taste one of their drinks, it’s easy to see why you can rarely find a seat inside.

Stemma Coffee

Stemma is not only a beautiful shop; they know coffee more intimately than many shops because the family business is coffee. Owning their farm in Nicaragua and roasting their own beans is a seed-to-cup process overseen by a mother-and-daughter duo. Favorites here include the Dirty Mama and the El Güerito.

Lineage Coffee

Lineage deserves most of the credit for bringing the craft coffee scene to the forefront in Orlando; a scene that has exploded since it opened ten years ago with its first location inside the East End Market. A standard latte is all you need here because it’s always perfect, but you will want to try this Pumpkin Spice Latte this time of year.

Cups and Pups

Matt and April started their coffee adventure by popping up under a tent on Orange Blossom Trail in Lockhart. Fast forward to their very own, much beloved, tiny coffee shop in College Park that is pup-friendly. They use Lineage Coffee, sling all types of hot and iced drinks, and monthly seasonal specials. My favorites are their Lavender Cold Brew and, their seasonal Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew and Brown Sugar Pop Tart Latte should not be missed.

Deeply Coffee

Instead of constantly cranking out seasonal fare, Deeply offers a strong bench of straightforward classic drinks for those who prefer to go without added cold foams and sugars. However, they always have incredible seasonal drinks on the menu that lure me from my standard oat milk latte. The sun always makes this open cafe glow at all times of day, and when you walk outside, you have beautiful Lake Eola steps away.

Easy Luck

Inside the Milk District’s popular bar and community hub is an independent coffee counter run by Easy Luck. Thanks to the beautiful space curated by the main proprietor Whippoorwill Beer House, you can enjoy coffee and toast in a cute setting and kill time until the bar opens. Right now, if you are looking for something seasonal, try their Apple Spice Latte.

Deli Desires

Deli Desires is a Deli, but their coffee offerings are half of why I visit so frequently. They use Bandit out of St. Pete, one of my favorite roasters, and they always have inventive and delicious seasonal drinks on top of their perfect classic beverages. One favorite is the Candied Orange Latte.

Downtown Credo

Credo is one of the original shops (along with Lineage) that helped spur our coffee movement. They are now down to just one location, on N. Orange Avenue, but the coffee tastes just as good as it did ten years ago when I first tried it. The space is shared with a local bookstore, and it’s quiet enough for studying or working. My favorite drink it just a standard oat milk latte with a little orange extract.

The Monroe

Many people forget about The Monroe because it’s known more for the restaurant aspect, but don’t forget they are a coffee bar and lounge in the morning hours. It’s perfect for coffee meetings or even remote working. Two of my favorite drinks have been the Root Beer Latte and the Sweet Potato Latte.

Qreate Coffee

Part coffee shop, part artistic photo studio. Qreate is a popular neighborhood spot well-known for its fun and inventive drink menu. I love their Purple Pearl espresso Over Taro Latte and when they have it, their horchata latte is fantastic.

Lucid Beans

Lucid Beans is a pop-up you can find at the Packing District Farmers Market in College Park, as well as some other local businesses (it’s best to find their schedule on their Instagram). Their Iced Chai Cappuccino stopped me in my tracks, so track them down.

JEFF’S BAGEL RUN

The best bagels in town come with good coffee on the side if you wish. Thanks to local roaster Otus Coffee, you can get some smooth cold brew, which Jeff’s team can turn into something even more special. Like a Banana Cold Brew or a seasonal Chai-der!

Winter park area

Light on the Sugar

While we know this spot more for its baked goods, I also consider it a coffee shop. They have a full coffee menu along with teas, including specialty lattes like the Dalgona and Hojica lattes. They are wonderful compliments to the made-from-scratch baked goods, making this cafe a great spot to indulge your sweet and caffeinated pleasures. Favorite drinks include their Dalgona Latte and their Tiramisu Latte.

Lobos Coffee

Lobos holds it’s own in the coffee saturated area of Audubon Park. There is plenty of outdoor and patio seating, and one of my favorite drinks is the Maple Bourbon Cortado.

Barnie's Coffee

Some people may not know that Barnie's actually started back in the 80's right here in Orlando. Now, their only cafe in Winter Park is serving up drinks, breakfast, lunch, and brunch. When the weather is agreeable, you can't beat the outside courtyard. My favorite drink is their Turkish Latte.

New General

Orlando’s first coffee window can be found in Winter Park at New General. While this is sit down cafe, I love the ability to quickly use the window to grab a latte to-go. If you’re looking for a wellness drink try the Blue Majik Latte, or go for a seasonal like the Pumpkin Cider Latte.

WEST ORLANDO

Piccolo Coffee

Truthfully, Piccolo is one of my all-time favorites. If they had existed when I was a teen growing up in Winter Garden, they would have depleted my entire West Oaks Mall paycheck. Owned by a husband and wife team, they hustle hard with their location inside Downtown Deli and coffee cart pop-ups at the Winter Garden farmers market. Make sure to check out their regularly rotating seasonal drinks. My favorites include the Orange Mocha, and the seasonal Salted Maple Latte.

Canon Coffee

This renovated home on the corner of W 2nd Street and S Lake Avenue has comfortable nooks for hanging out, getting work done, or even having a small event. The coffee is good, and it’s far from pretentious or uncomfortable. They have an impressive fall coffee menu right now, so check out their PSL or Oatmeal Cookie Latte.

Paloma Coffee

It’s located in downtown Windermere and owned by a local family. It's not a huge shop, so seating is limited, but they are open a good portion of the day, so you shouldn't have difficulty spending some time here without feeling like a seat hog. They’ve also added a back patio with additional seating for cooler Florida days.

Filigree Coffee

Over near Horizons West (the fancy name for the newly developed area of Winter Garden) coffee lovers have a local gem hiding inside a local brewery! Filigree has their set up inside Home State Brewing. An extra perk is that you can get Buttermilk Bakery pastries all the way out there to go with their drink of choice.

north - deland

Trilogy Coffee Roasting

I don’t get to visit Trilogy as often as I’d like to, but when in Deland, it is the ONLY place I will get a coffee. If you’ve never visited, this time of year is your chance to try their popular seasonal Sweater Vest latte.

SOUTH ORLANDO

XO COFFEE

XO Coffee is one that I truly wish was closer to the core of Orlando because I’ve enjoyed it so much each visit. They make some really stellar seasonal drinks as well, so if you are in Kissimmee soon check them out. It also has plenty of seating and tends to be on the quieter side, great for remote work.

CAFE BARISTA

Another spot in Kissimmee I’d visit when in the area is Cafe Barista. When I last was there they were using Onyx coffee (not sure if that is still the case) but I had an excellent latte in a beautiful and quiet atmosphere. Perfect for a catch up or meeting.

No shop asked to be a part of this list, and no shop paid to be featured. These are my current favorites based on how I like the coffee and the service.
