Home State Brewery
About fifteen minutes south of downtown Winter Garden you'll find the master-planned community of Hamlin, which is still technically Winter Garden. They've grown to have amenities allowing locals to indulge and shop without hopping back on the 429, and now that includes their own brewery, Home State Brewing. Despite Orlando overflowing with breweries, saturation has not hit the West side of Orlando quite yet. A brewery is a welcome option for those living out by Disney and throughout Horizon West when driving out to the always-packed Crooked Can in Winter Garden isn't the desired venture.
The Drinks
The brewery is on the premise, so you can choose from those local brews and other guest brews from local breweries in Orlando like Redlight Redlight and Green Bench in St. Petersburg. Wine, ciders, and non-alcoholic options are also on the menu. My favorite aspect of the brewery happens on the weekends, at least for now, with the addition of a local coffee cart run and locally roasted by Otus Coffee. If you aren’t familiar with Otus, that might be because they don’t have their own coffee shop, but you are drinking their coffee at local shops all around Central Florida without even knowing it. Take my word for it, the coffee is great and don’t forget to try the cold brew.
The Food
There are rotating food trucks that pop up during the week and weekends, but you are allowed to bring in outside food per their website. So if you want to bring a Pub-Sub with you, have at it! That could change once their kitchen opens, but it is allowed and encouraged for now. We got some snacks from the Treehouse Food Truck on our weekend visit.
Other things to note:
The outdoor patio is dog-friendly
The bathrooms are gorgeous
If you become a big fan and supporter of the brewery you can join a Founder Club and get extra perks
The outdoor patio includes a stage where you may catch some live music
